The Colorado Springs chapter

Serious business.Good company.Great stories.

The best business comes from people who already trust you. Between Rounds Golf Club is where business owners and the advisors they rely on build that trust: one round a month, a real conversation afterward, and introductions that keep coming in between.

Members also get a real app for their rounds: a live scorecard, handicaps and games built in. See the app

Why golf

Relationships are built over eighteen holes, not business cards.

Ask any owner or advisor where their best clients, partners and hires came from, and the answer is almost always the same: someone who knew them and vouched for them. Networking works when it builds trust. Most of it doesn’t, because the room is too big, the conversations are too short, and half the people in it sell the same thing you do.

Golf is the exception. Four hours side by side, phones in the bag. You see how someone handles a bad break, keeps their score, and treats the people around them. By the eighteenth hole you know more about a person than a year of lunches would tell you.

The Between Rounds formula

  • The right table

One seat per specialty and per industry, so everyone at the table complements you and nobody competes with you.

  • Real time together

A round every month with rotating foursomes, so you play with every member over a season and relationships build instead of fade.

  • Real business

A sit-down on an actual problem after every round, and introductions that members make for one another between rounds.

And it costs less. Membership is $1,000 a year, or $100 a month: a fraction of what executive peer groups charge, and less than many networking groups that meet every week and never get past small talk. You pay for a table that works, not for another breakfast.

The month

How it works

  1. 01

    One round a month

Each chapter plays together monthly. Foursomes rotate, so over a season you play with everyone at the table, not the same three people.

  2. 02

    Then the sit-down

After the round, members sit down together. One member brings a real question from their business, and the table works on it with them.

  3. 03

    Introductions between rounds

The weeks in between are where the club earns its keep: members open doors for one another to clients, partners and people worth knowing.

The app

A real app for your rounds.

Every member gets the club’s own app on their phone. It takes care of the scorekeeping, the games and the logistics, so the group can get on with the golf and the conversation.

  • A live scorecard

Everyone in the group enters scores hole by hole on their own phone. It keeps going if your phone sleeps or the signal drops on the back nine.

  • Handicaps handled

Your handicap is applied for you, so net scores just work. No math on the tee box.

  • Games built in

Skins with carryovers, Nassau and more. Side bets settle themselves, so at the end of the round you see who owes whom.

  • The recap

Results, games and the day’s highlights land in your inbox after the round.

  • The day in one place

RSVPs, groups and tee times all in one place. If the weather turns, the round can move indoors without anyone losing their spot.

  • For chairs

Chairs get tools that run the month for them.

The table

Who’s at the table

Business owners

Owners and operators of established companies, $1M or more in revenue.

Trusted advisors

CPAs, wealth advisors, attorneys, bankers, insurance and M&A advisors with at least three years in the seat.

One seat per specialty, one seat per industry.

Every chapter holds a single seat for each advisory specialty and each owner’s industry, so the people around you complement one another rather than compete for the same clients.

Seats

Is your seat still open?

Colorado Springs has 149 seats open. One per profession: once yours is taken, it’s taken. Crossed out means a member already holds it.

The commitment

What membership asks

Founding members

Colorado Springs is forming now

Founding members shape the chapter from the first round: who fills the remaining seats, where we play, and how the table runs. As a thank-you, the first five members of each chapter lock in their dues rate for as long as they stay members and carry the Founding Member title.

Membership is by invitation or application. If a member has invited you, use the link they sent; otherwise, apply and the chapter chair will be in touch.

Questions

What happens in the winter?

The club still meets every month. When the courses close, the round moves indoors to a golf simulator, or the month becomes a social evening with the sit-down. Winter months count toward your attendance like any other.

Where do we play?

The course changes from month to month, and members often host at their own private club or home course. Each event lists the venue, the format, the cost and how to pay, so there are no surprises.

Do I need to be a good golfer?

No. Any handicap is welcome; you just need a GHIN handicap number, which you can get through a USGA-affiliated club or your state golf association. Rounds are scored net, so a 25 can beat a scratch golfer.

How is the golf scored?

Net Stableford by default, plus closest to the pin and long drive. Season standings count your best eight rounds, so a bad day or a missed month won’t sink you.

What if I can’t make eight rounds a year?

Life happens. Eight of twelve is the commitment we ask for because the value comes from knowing the people at the table. You can always see your own attendance in the app, and the club sends a friendly reminder if you fall behind. Nobody is dropped automatically: any decision about a membership is made by the chapter’s committee, never by one person, as the Membership Agreement explains.

Can I bring guests?

Yes, and we hope you will. Members bring at least two guests a year. A guest can join up to two events before deciding whether to apply, and pays their own green fee.

What if my specialty or industry is already taken?

Each chapter holds one seat per advisory specialty and one per owner’s industry. If yours is filled, your application is waitlisted rather than declined, so the chair can come back to it when the seat opens.

How does someone join?

Most members come as a guest first, but anyone can apply: pick your chapter, or tell us your area if there isn’t one near you yet. The chapter chair reviews every application and makes the final call. If there isn’t a spot for you yet, you’ll go on the list and we’ll reach out when one opens.

What if the table is quiet one month?

Every sit-down starts with one member bringing a real question from their business, so there is always somewhere to begin. Chairs also have a library of discussion questions by theme, from hiring and pricing to succession and exit, to get the conversation going.

What does it cost?

$1,000 a year paid up front, or $100 a month if you’d rather pay as you go. That’s a fraction of what executive peer groups charge, and less than many weekly networking groups. Green fees are paid separately at each course. The first five members of a new chapter pay the same dues, with their rate locked for as long as they stay members.

What does it take to start a chapter?

One person to chair it and a founding group of owners and advisors who’ll show up every month. We provide the format and the platform that runs it. If you can picture seven other people you’d want at the table, two foursomes, use the form at the bottom of this page. Chapters grow from there.

Your city

Bring Between Rounds to your city

Want a seat? Join the list for your city. Want to host? Start a chapter as Founding Chair.

Every chapter starts with one person who knows the local business community and loves the game. The Founding Chair brings together a founding group of owners and advisors; we bring the format and the platform that runs it: applications and seats, monthly events and RSVPs, rotating pairings, handicaps and scoring, and dues.

If you’d like to host and can picture seven other people you’d want at the table, two foursomes, we should talk. Chapters grow from there to 12, 16 or more.
