Membership Agreement
Last updated October 28, 2026 · Version 2026-10-28
This agreement is between you and Between Rounds Golf Club (“the club”, “we”, “us”), including the local chapter you belong to. It explains what the club offers, what members agree to, and how decisions about membership are made. We’ve written it in plain English on purpose. By applying for, accepting or continuing a membership, you agree to it.
1. Your membership
- Membership is by invitation. It is personal to you and can’t be transferred, shared or sold.
- Each membership runs for a one-year term. While dues are being collected, your term starts on the day of your first dues payment. Before then (for example, during a free test period), your membership year runs from the day you joined.
- Renewal is by invitation of your chapter each year. Nobody has an automatic right to renew, and not being invited to renew is not a finding of wrongdoing.
- Each chapter keeps one seat per advisory specialty and one per owner’s industry. Your seat is based on the details you gave when you applied, so please tell the chapter if your role or business changes.
2. What members agree to
The club works because members show up for each other. As a member, you agree to:
- Play regularly: attend at least 8 of the 12 monthly events in each membership year. Winter simulator and social months count.
- Bring guests: bring at least 2 guests a year. This is how the club grows.
- Keep dues current: once dues are being collected, keep a working payment method on file.
- Treat people with respect: members, guests, course and venue staff, and the courses themselves. No harassment, discrimination, abusive language or behavior, whether at an event or between rounds.
- Keep the sit-down confidential: what members share about their businesses, clients, finances or personal lives at the sit-down (and in similar private conversations) stays in the room. Don’t repeat it, use it for your own advantage, or pass it on without that member’s permission. This doesn’t stop you sharing your own honest opinion of the club, including in a public review.
- No hard selling: don’t pitch, solicit or hand out sales material at events. Introductions and follow-ups that members welcome are what the club is for; pressure isn’t.
- Follow each course’s rules: including its dress code, pace of play, cart and safety rules, and the instructions of its staff.
- Answer for your guests: you are responsible for the conduct of the guests you bring, and for making sure they know these standards and the course’s rules.
- Be honest: keep your own score honestly, give accurate information on your application and profile, and enter a real GHIN number.
3. How your standing is tracked
- The chapter records attendance after each event and the guests each member registers. You can see your own attendance and guest count for the year on your member home screen at any time.
- “On pace” means you’ve attended at least 8 events for every 12 months so far this membership year, rounded up: for example, 1 event after the first month, 4 after six months and 8 by the end of the year. Months when the chapter held no event don’t count against you. If you fall behind, or if 8 of 12 can no longer be reached this year, the club sends you a friendly reminder by email, no more than once every 30 days. New members get no reminders in their first 60 days.
- Reminders come from the club, not from any one person. They are a heads-up, not a warning, and nobody’s membership ends automatically because of attendance, guests or a missed payment.
- If there’s a reason you can’t make events for a while (health, family, work), tell the chapter. Life happens.
4. If there is a concern
Concerns about a member are handled privately and fairly, and decisions are made by a group, never by one person.
- Privately first. A concern is raised with the member privately, usually in a conversation with the chair or a committee member. Many concerns end there.
- A chance to respond. Before any vote on non-renewal or removal, the member is told the concern and given a fair chance to respond, or to step down instead if they prefer.
- Decided by the committee. Decisions on non-renewal or removal are made by the chapter’s admissions committee (or, if the chapter has chosen to have all members vote, by the members) using the same voting rule the chapter uses to admit members. At least two people must vote yes, and the member concerned never votes on their own membership.
- Carried out by the chair. The chair carries out the committee’s decision. The chair does not decide alone.
- Recorded. Every proposal, vote and outcome is recorded with its date. The discussion and the individual votes are kept confidential to the committee and the chair; the member is told the outcome, the date it takes effect, and what happens to their dues.
5. Non-renewal, removal and stepping down
- Non-renewal means your membership ends at the end of its term and isn’t renewed. It is the usual outcome when a member hasn’t met the standards in section 2 over the year, for example attendance well below 8 of 12.
- Removal ends a membership before the end of its term. It is only for serious or repeated breaches of this agreement, such as harassment, violence, dishonesty with members, breaking the sit-down’s confidentiality, conduct that puts the club’s relationship with a course at risk, or ignoring repeated reminders about the same problem.
- Stepping down. You may resign at any time, for any reason, from your Profile in the app or by emailing club@betweenroundsclub.com. Resigning is always available instead of a review.
- In a genuine emergency (for example, a threat to someone’s safety), a club administrator may end a membership straight away. That decision is recorded like any other, with its reason, and the committee is told.
6. Dues and refunds
- Plans. Dues are $1,000 a year paid up front, or $100 a month. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- Free test period. While your chapter is in a free test period, no dues are charged. We’ll give you notice by email before dues start, and nothing is charged until you set up dues.
- Monthly plans can be canceled at any time to stop future charges. Months already paid aren’t refunded.
- Annual dues are not refunded if you resign, or if your membership is removed or not renewed for not meeting this agreement.
- If the club ends a membership early for reasons that have nothing to do with the member’s conduct (for example, a chapter closes), we refund the unused part of any prepaid annual dues, for the whole months remaining in the term.
- Founding members are the first five members admitted to a new chapter, not counting its chair. They pay dues from the day they’re admitted, like every member, and keep the dues rate in effect at their first payment for as long as their membership continues without a break. If a founding membership lapses or ends and the person later rejoins, the standard rate in effect when they rejoin applies. A chapter’s founding phase ends when its fifth founding member is admitted, or sooner if its chair opens the chapter. Members who joined Colorado as founding members before October 28, 2026 keep the terms announced to them: no dues until January 2027, and from their first payment their rate is locked the same way, for as long as their membership continues without a break.
- Moving to start a new chapter. A member who leaves their chapter to start or lead a new one keeps their membership and the term they’ve already paid for. Their membership moves to the new chapter, and they switch to the chair rate.
- Chairs pay nothing during their chapter’s launch period (a date the club sets and announces by email), then half the standard dues while they serve as chair. The standard rate applies again when they step down as chair.
- Course and venue fees (green fees, carts, simulator bays, food and drink) are separate from dues and are paid to the venue, or as each event describes. The club isn’t responsible for them.
- If a payment fails, we’ll let you know and give you time to update your card. Nobody is removed automatically for a missed payment.
7. Golf, events and your own risk
- Voluntary. Taking part in club golf, events and travel to them is voluntary and at your own risk.
- Assumption of risk. Golf and related activities carry real risks, including being struck by a ball or club, golf cart accidents, falls, heat, lightning and other weather, and the condition of courses and venues. You understand these risks and accept them.
- Release. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release Between Rounds Golf Club, its chapters, and their organizers, chairs, committee members, hosts and volunteers from any claim for injury, illness, death, or loss of or damage to property arising from your taking part in club golf or events, or from your guests’ taking part, and you agree not to bring such a claim against them. This release does not cover harm caused by gross negligence or willful and wanton conduct, or anything else the law does not allow to be released.
- Your own insurance. You are responsible for your own health, liability and property insurance, and for your own conduct and your guests’ conduct, including any damage to a course or venue.
- Venues. Courses and venues are run by others. The club doesn’t control them and isn’t responsible for their facilities, staff or fees.
- Drink responsibly, and never drive or operate a golf cart after drinking.
8. Member information
- Other members of your chapter can see your directory profile: your name, photo, company, title, specialty or industry, private club or home course, and anything else you choose to show (such as an email address).
- Chairs can also see your contact details, attendance, guests, handicap and dues status so they can run the chapter. Members who vote on admissions (the committee, or every member if the chapter has chosen that) see the applications and decisions they vote on, except decisions about themselves.
- Our Privacy notice explains what we collect, who handles it for us, and how to see, correct or delete your information.
9. Communications
You agree to receive emails and in-app notices from the club about events, RSVPs, pairings, scores, your standing, dues and your membership. These are part of running the club, so they continue while you are a member. We don’t sell your email address or send advertising from others.
10. Questions and disagreements
- If something isn’t right, talk to your chapter chair first. Most things are sorted out over a conversation.
- If that doesn’t settle it, write to the chapter’s committee through club@betweenroundsclub.com, and it will review the matter and reply.
- This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Colorado.
- Nothing in this agreement limits anyone’s legal rights, including your right to post honest reviews of the club or to speak about your experience with it.
11. Changes to this agreement
- We may update this agreement. We’ll email members at least 30 days before a change takes effect.
- If you continue your membership after that date, you accept the updated agreement. If you don’t want to, you may step down before then.
- The current version is always at betweenroundsclub.com/agreement, with its date and version at the top.
- If any part of this agreement can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
